How to save a Facebook video on iPhone and to Photos
iPhone keeps downloads in the Files app. Two ways to get the video into Photos.
On iPhone and iPad, Safari doesn't save videos straight to your photo library. Every download goes to the Files app, in a folder called Downloads. That's why so many people download a video and think it didn't work: it's there, it just doesn't show up in the Photos app.
There are two ways to fix this. The quickest uses ClipsKeep's Send or save button. The other works for any file that's already in the Files app.
1. Quick way: use the Send or save button
After finding the video, tap Send or save in the result. The site prepares the video and the button changes to Share now. Tap it again: your iPhone's share menu opens.
2. Choose Save Video in the share menu
Scroll through the list of actions until you find Save Video and tap it. Done: the video goes straight into the Photos app, in your Recents album. This way, no leftover copy sits in the Files app taking up space.
3. The Files app route
If you already downloaded the video with a download button, open the Files app, tap Browse and then Downloads. Tap the video to open it.
4. Share it and save it to Photos
With the video open, tap the share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) in the corner of the screen and choose Save Video. The file stays in the Files app too; to free up space, delete that copy afterwards.
Common iPhone problems
- The Send or save button doesn't appear. It only shows in browsers that allow sharing files. Update iOS or use Safari.
- There's no Save Video option. It only appears for video files. An MP3 stays in the Files app and plays from there.
- The Downloads folder is empty. Check Settings > Safari > Downloads to see where Safari keeps files: it may be iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
- Photos says there isn't enough space. Videos in HD can be large. Delete a few old videos or download the SD version.

Do I need to install an app on my iPhone?
No. Safari and the Files app come with every iPhone, and they're all you need to download the video and save it to Photos.
